The course addresses the concept of human growth, development and maturation from prenatal stage through infancy to young adulthood.  Topics covered are definitions of  psychology, human growth, human development; physical, emotional, social and moral aspects of growth and development; Factors influencing human growth and development; theories of cognitive development; infancy and childhood; adolescence: its meaning, needs, changes, problems and challenges; Strategies to help adolescents cope with role confusion and need for identity; Theories of personality and their implications to learning; Young adulthood: Its needs and challenges.
