Course Purpose:
This course is designed to enable students acquire practical knowledge and skills that are
essential to effectively execute community health activities and assess the health of
communities.
8 hours per day for 5 days a week for totaling to 40 credit hours per week. 1
credit hour is equal to 80 clock hours. Therefore, 400 hours for a 10 week period.

The course is designed to provide the student with an overview of the general principles and concepts of health education and promotion applicable to individual, organizational and community settings. Theoretical models used to explain why people adopt or fail to adopt health promoting behavior will be addressed. The student will also comprehensively learn about the theoretical frameworks for health promotions.
