The purpose of this course is to expose students to the subject of hemostasis and thrombosis in general.  The topics covered during this course include but are not limited to: primary and secondary hemostasis; procoagulant and anticoagulant properties of the vascular intima, platelet properties and cessation of bleeding; coagulation factors in coagulation and fibrinolysis, qualitative and quantitative disorders of platelets, hemorrhagic coagulation disorders and evaluation of hemostasis.
