This is a core course unit meant for all students who are taking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. The rationale of offering the course is to enable the student to apply concepts and principles of human pathology in providing nursing care. This core unit or course is usually taken in the second year of study and the pre-requisite unit is Nursing Foundations and Health Assessment. The general purpose of the course therefore is to introduce you to cell biology, neoplasms, metabolic & pigmentation disorders and genetic disorders. Emphasis will be placed on liver and kidney pathogenesis.
