This course continues to introduce the student to Nursing roles and functions and builds upon  concepts and skills learned in Nursing Foundations  NRSG 215, Health Assessments (NRSG 212) and Pharmacology (NRSG 213).   Focus is on beginning Nursing interventions that promote optimum well being and restoration among medical and surgical adult patients.  The student will be guided in gaining a basic understanding of the Path physiologic processes of targeted diseases in order to effectively plan patient care. In addition principles of operating room techniques and administration of medications are explored.  This course provides 4 hours theory and 32 hours of practice in a general hospital setting.  Prerequisites NRSG 212, NRSG 213 and NRSG 215.
