• The course is designed to create awareness in the importance, influence and contribution of agriculture to human development.
  • The student will acquire both theoretical and practical skills essential for food production and food security.
  • The course is open to all non-agriculture majors.

It is expected that at the end of the course students will:

1.Know about the importance of agriculture in Kenya

2.Be able to know about the diversity of agricultural activities and production with reference to various agricultural ecological zones in the Kenya.
3.Be able to appreciate that every region in the country has a role to play in agriculture production regardless of its type.
4.Be able to know the role, influence and contribution of agriculture to human nutrition and development.
5.Be able to use God given natural resources at their disposal with care because they belong to them and their children’s children.
6.Be able to design some low-cost technologies
7.Be able to use their hands, mind and body for agriculture production.
8.Use all the skills learnt in this course to enhance agriculture production in Kenya
