This course will explore mental health problems or experiences that place the mental health care user (MHCU) at risk and the possible nursing problems that result. It will cover problems related to life style, disturbed sensorium and current problems and trends in psychiatric nursing practice. It emphasizes application of therapeutic interpersonal process and theoretically and scientifically based problem solving approach in meeting the bio psychosocial needs of the individual, groups and families. The course will also explore the concept of reflective practice and the student will be introduced to the art of writing a reflective diary.
