This course introduces the learner to the concept of curriculum, its meaning, components, and determinants. Topics to be covered include definitions of curriculum, components of curriculum, determinants of curriculum, school curriculum, facilities and staffing; Key elements of curriculum: Vision, philosophy, mission, goals, expected learning outcome (Objectives), content, the learning experiences, learning environment, the resource materials, instructional strategies, methods of evaluating the learning experiences; The relationship between national goals of education and curriculum objectives;  Sources of curriculum information; curriculum models; philosophical foundations of curriculum development, patterns of curriculum organization; the curriculum development process; curriculum innovation and implementation strategies; strategies for curriculum changes since independence.
