This is an online course that is intended to introduce the student to the historical development of the Muslim community from its inception until now. The course explores major themes in Islamic studies such as: background, history, vision, faith, essential beliefs and practices, pillars of Islam, lifestyles and general praxis in its variety expressions and development of Islam with specific emphasis on their implications for Christians working in Muslim contexts. The student is introduced to the life and works of Prophet Muhammad and the role he played in the growth and development of Islam in relation to society in the modern world.
